What’s new in Mila’s Meals Two?

Mila's Meals Second Edition

Are you wondering what the differences are between the first and second edition of my nutrition and cookbook ‘Mila’s Meals: The Beginning & The Basics’?

[/vc_column_text]

If you are discovering the book for the first time, you can read more about it here.

Here’s a brief rundown…

1. The second edition of the book has been through another round of proofreading and editing.

Which means dashes were changed to EM dashes (insert groaning face emoji here!) and all other grammar has been polished.

2. An all-new comprehensive index – 11 pages in total!

Now you will be able to find absolutely every morsel of information in the book. And, to assist with meal planning and to avoid allergens, recipes are cross-referenced against all ingredients included in the recipe.

3. Updated nutrition information

Where new research has uncovered new information. For example – all mentions of vitamin K have been updated to refer to either vitamin K1 or vitamin K2 (blog post on the significance of vitamin K2 coming soon).

4. An updated food introduction chart.

4. And new covers!

Yearssssss instead of year! Because this book is used for years – not just the first year of your little one’s food journey (#copywritingfail on the first edition).

[blockquote text=”“Mila’s Meals is an absolute gift to parents and practitioners alike.
As an integrative doctor I realise that healing starts at home. We are taught so little about nutrition in medical school, that having a ‘Go To’ book in the practice is superb. I often refer parents to it and encourage them to read it cover to cover. I have seen the changes in the little ones’ health and love it when the children become the agents of change for the whole family.
I look forward to seeing this book translated in multiple languages.”

[blockquote text=”“I have been teaching healthy food choices to my patients for years, but only after reading Mila’s Meals could I translate that practically to my own toddlers meals.
What inspired me the most was how Catherine was able to pull these amazing healthy creations together while still running a business and caring for a toddler.
I highly recommend this well-researched textbook on healthy nutrition masquerading as a delightful recipe book!”
Dr. Leila Sadien (MBChB)” show_quote_icon=”yes” line_height=”25″]
[blockquote text=”“I absolutely love this book! I use it every day and I recommend it for ALL my patients, young and old. Catherine has given so much information on how many foods and additives affect our bodies and what to replace them with. What we feed our children affects them not only physically but emotionally and cognitively. How did I ever practice without this book? Thank you Catherine!”
Dr. Rene Jeannes – homoeopath, functional medicine practitioner, biopuncturist” show_quote_icon=”yes” line_height=”25″]

And last, but by no means least…

Another addition to the second edition is sponsorship!

Producing a book while being an independent author (that is, I have published this book myself) requires a significant financial investment. To aid with the costs of producing this book, I approached like-minded brands to contribute by way of sponsorship and collaboration.

I was delighted to have Good Life Organic and Drasanvi Superfoods South Africa accept the invitation to partner with me. With their financial contribution, I was able to spend three months working solely on revising the book (something a publisher’s advance payment would normally allow an author to do).

You will see their logos on the copyright page of the book as well as some of their products mentioned in the book where relevant.

You can try their products for yourself when you purchase one of their pre-order bundles via the Mila’s Meals online shop.

**stock of these bundles is limited so get one while you can!**

  1. Excited to get my hands on a copy and try out some new recipes for my girls! They both have several food allergies so am looking for another book to add to my collection

  2. This book should be a must in every home & as a mum i am keen to learn more about the nutritional values of everyday foods & gain inspiration so i can cook healthy delicious meals.

  3. I can see the difference in my friends toddlers who eats from Mila’s meals and those that don’t. I got the 2nd edition as a ebook and would love a hard copy. Can’t wait to make those nutrient dense meals for my little boy.

  4. I love everything I’ve hear about this book and I’d love to get my hands on the 2bd edition. I have 2 little boys, and one has allergies so I need loads of help with ideas of what healthy meals to make apart from what I’m used to making. His big brother is also quite sickly, so I’m sure eliminating some things from his diet will help me pick up if he’s sensitive to any of the things he’s been eating regularly.

  5. I can’t tell you how excited I am that Mila’s Meals is available again! I personally refer to this book daily and I recommend it to so many patients, whether they have children or not. It is so difficult to know what is safe to eat these days and this book clarifies the topic beautifully.

  6. I strive to be as passionate and diligent about nutrition as Catherine is. This is absolutely amazing and hopefully just the nudge I need.
    Congratulations on your second book!

  7. What an amazing and resourceful book. Can’t imagine trying to take-on the weaning and feeding journey of the little ones without this on hand. Would love to get my hands on a copy of the 2nd edition.
